"I'm running for
State Assembly because we can — and must —
make California truly inclusive, affordable, and sustainable for all."
Justine Gonzalez
A MESSAGE FROM JUSTINE
As a young child in the Bronx, I lived in a world where low wages, violence, discrimination, and poorly funded public schools kept families trapped in cycles of poverty.
Today, too many families in California face a similar reality because like then, too few state legislators are fighting for us. Like you, I feel like this is an urgent moment to change the way things are done in Sacramento.
I am running to represent the 52nd Assembly District because as a renter, a parent, and a transgender woman, I feel a responsibility to step up and lift up the voices of those who are left behind. And I am running because in the face of hundreds of attempts across the country to strip LGBTQ+ people and women of their individual and reproductive rights, I believe California must set an example for a more just and inclusive nation.

My career spanning nearly 15 years in public service and community advocacy has prepared me to be an effective voice in Sacramento: For an inclusive-affordable-sustainable California. I believe that together, we will move California forward.
